Progress?
David helped me build frames this weekend so I have got some of my works almost completely finished. It only took three trips to the hardware store. I still have alot of loose ends to fix and eyes to sew on not to mention all the hand sewing that is left, but things are starting to come together.

My Birthday.
It is long gone, but I wanted to share what David did to make up for his absence.
At the comic con he had Andy draw me a picture of Owly (hands down the cutest comic ever) in Civil War uniforms. They are way to happy to be going to war. I love it. You can see more owly sketches at http://www.andyrunton.com/sketches.html

The workspace.
This is what I did on the Forth of July.
David moved a drawing table upstairs so we could both work while we watched movies.
That is his desk in front.

I may have shown this before but this is the table David and his dad made for me.
I don't know what I would do without it.

More Heart War Sketches

The working title for the show is "The Great Heart War of 184o something". Here are more sketches. I have been sketching during the day and composing fabric at night. My quota is currently 3 a night so I will have plenty to sew on during our fourth of July trip to Alabama, a week and a half away.

I am working on a new project. It will be a gallery show full of my fabric paintings (or, Works in Applique). All the paintings will be related and tell the dramatic story of the civil war between the Wings and the Arms. Here are a couple of sketches that hint at what is going on. I will post more when I get more of the story down and feel comfortable with the drawings. I will be doing nothing but this until the end of september, NOTHING, Not only because the gallery is large and their can't be too many gaps in the narrative, but I want to go up in size. Right now the largest one I have done has been 16" X 20". I want to start measuring in feet. We shall see how this will unfold.

Here is the "big one". The battle. I am in the process of putting things where they should go and choosing where I should add more.

My brother is getting married. So I took some time off from fabric paintings to make his bride-to-be geets for all her bride's maids. Their dresses will be yellow and David spotted this fabric that was just perfect. They are big enough to cuddle, about 10" X 6". I hope they like them.
